Finite element modelling, analyses, verifications and optimizations for Spud Launching Girders during erection phases of bridges.
For the bridges located in zone with the unfavourable sea and wind conditions that do not allow to optimize the marine works, the movable launching girder, called Spud Launching girder, has been developed for foundation construction and deck erection.
Due to the span length, the weight to be handled and the piles construction method, a pair of spud legs are installed on the tip of the equipment to support it during operation. The spud launching girder is capable to self-launch 44m, to drive/drill piles 46m long having a weight of 52ton, to erect the pile cap, the steel beams and the prefabricated deck slabs.
The activities carried out by BOLINA includes finite element modelling, analyses, verifications and optimizations of global structure, piling working platform and other local components, for the erection phases considering the most-unfavourable working conditions and loads induced by wind and waves.
