Health facilities – Aviano Cancer Center (Italy)

The building has a resistant r.c. frame scheme with a rectangular plan and continuous bays with regular spacing of 7.5 meters in both directions (90X22.5 m). The structure has 2 floors: the mezzanine floor, which does not occupy the entire plan development of the building, and the roof. At the top there is a small castle that provides access to the roof. Eccentrically located in the northern part of the building are the stairwell and elevator shaft. In light of the condition of the building, an assessment of the seismic vulnerability of the structure was necessary. Analyses are conducted with reference to the Lifesaving Limit State (SLV), which defines a seismic action for the class 4 building with a return time of 949 years and a 10% probability of occurrence over the reference lifetime.
