Formulation of a project proposal relating to the new bridge over the Arno river with relative arrangement of the connecting roads and the urban context. The activity envisaged the development of the project proposal with a level of detail typical of the Technical-Economic Feasibility Project. The drawings and technical reports were produced as per the requirements of the Tender Notice
The main prerogative of the design proposal is to be an integral bridge, without expansion joints and without supports. The proposed bridge, which can be traced back to an arched structure with an upper via, is characterized by an overall length of 130 m and divided into three spans of different lengths, respectively equal to 12 m, 83 m and 35 m (from hydraulic left to hydraulic right) . The cross section has a width of 12.3 m organized on 2 lanes of 3.5 m each, platforms of 1.25 m, safety barrier door curb and side curb for technical inspection of the deck; systems integrated into a hollow metal side casing that acts as a parapet ensuring full inspection of both the plant and the platform water collection and disposal system. The superstructure is made with a mixed steel-concrete solution and the use of prefabricated self-supporting arch metal profiles in the first phase to support the reinforced concrete casting. of the deck up to the street level. In order to limit the weight of the superstructure, the intrados of the arches are “excavated” with an elliptical drilling resulting from the implementation of multi-objective structural optimization procedures such as MTOP applied to a parametric model of the Finite Element bridge
